Patricia Miller has a long history of caring for others. She owned and operated an in-home daycare for nine years. But after almost a decade of doing the same thing, she felt like she had hit a plateau. She began wondering what else she could do to make a positive impact. Senior care was a natural transition from working with children. It had all the same elements: meeting people where they are, caring for the whole person, and providing for their emotional as well physical needs. Committed to helping others, she always asks herself “What’s the need here, and how can I serve it?”
Working as Wisdom Senior Care’s Client Services Manager almost since its founding, Pat served as a central point of communication for clients, caregivers, and the office, ensuring that communication flows smoothly between them. She ensured that caregivers provided the highest quality service, made sure scheduling changes were communicated promptly, and built trust and close relationships with clients so they felt comfortable bringing aides into their homes.
Inspired by the amazing care her aging mother received, Patricia strives to show the same excellence to the seniors she supports. When her mother first began receiving care, Pat drove 8½ hours almost every weekend to make sure she was all right. But when she saw how personally invested and compassionate the caregivers were, Pat knew they could be entrusted with her mother’s care. It was like a weight lifted off her mind.
She is committed to providing the same peace of mind to other families, knowing that their loved ones are being cared for by people with a passion for helping others live their best lives.
She also worked in hospice care, assisting with elderly seniors’ transition to death. When they passed, she was always there to help the family get the body clean and lend a helping hand through the emotional journey that came with the transition.
When Pat started to look for career paths beyond daycare, she learned about home senior care. Wisdom Senior Care's vision— helping seniors live their best lives at home and becoming a major industry player in North Carolina— drew her in. Pat joined Wisdom Senior Care and went to Wisdom Health Academy for her CNA. Never one to run from a challenge, she jumped in and never looked back. Wisdom Senior Care's tools and business training let her hit the ground running and start making a positive impact on other people’s lives right away. The personal and professional growth opportunities at Wisdom Senior Care soon positioned her to explore the prospect of ownership and launch her own business with Wisdom Senior franchise.
The mission and vision to provide quality care that allows seniors to remain in their homes.
Using her strengths. Wisdom lets her do what she’s passionate about: meeting with people and making a positive difference in their lives. She was able to lend her abilities while learning about the business side of senior care.
Being an impact player. Franchisees aren’t left on their own with only a manual to guide them: at Wisdom, it’s a team effort, and everyone makes a difference.
The growth potential. Far from being a simple mom-and-pop operation, Wisdom has the capability to expand not only nationally but globally.
